Telia’s negotiations with the us department of justice, DOJ, is now “closer to a solution”. It says Teliasonera ceo Johan Dennelind, in an interview with Bloomberg News in Davos.
In the middle of last september proposed the american and Dutch authorities a förlikningsbelopp at around 1.4 billion dollars, equivalent to about sek 12 billion, in respect of Telia’s establishment in Uzbekistan in 2007.
“We are cooperating fully with the authorities in order to bring clarity. With that said, our first reaction on the proposed amount that it is very large. We must now analyze the information and decide how we are going to continue the current dialogue with the authorities”, said Teliasonera chairman Marie Ehrling at the time.
In the report for the third quarter did Telia, a provision of 12.5 billion.
Johan Dennelind said on Wednesday, although the outlook is to divest its ownership of almost 60% in Fintur, in which Turkcell is the minority shareholder, has improved to moderately positive.
In conjunction with the report for the third quarter saw Telia a risk that the divestment of the remaining operations in Eurasia, Uzbekistan and Fintur Holdings – could be delayed into 2017. Had previously Telia the ambition to go out of Eurasia in 2016.
