Unexpectedly weak German index – Västerbottens-kuriren (the Courier)

Markits purchasing managers ‘ index for Germany, the EU’s largest economy, fell a little more than expected in January, burdened by an unexpectedly weak development of the sub-index for the services sector.

Germany’s preliminary kompositindex for January fell to 54.7 million, from 55,2 in december. Analysts had on average expected 55,2.

the Sub-index for service sector fell to 53.2, against the expected 54,4.

For the manufacturing industry pointed to the upward trend, with a lift 56.5. It is the highest level in three years and can be compared with a snittprognos among analysts at 55,5.
