SAS sells Cimber partner – Expressen

the SAS business concept is to you in the future to lease many of the plan to regionalflygningar instead of owning them.

Cimber is a wholly-owned Danish regionalflygbolag that SAS bought two years ago. On behalf of SAS, Cimber flown regionalflygningar with base in Copenhagen with SAS-owned CRJ900.

CityJet will take over Cimber

the New owner CityJet is one of SAS’s strategic partners and fly already eight CRJ900 for SAS through a wet lease cooperation – wet lease means out and leasing in of aircraft with crew.

According to the settlement order Cityjet up to ten brand-new CRJ900, which used to be rented out to SAS with full crew.

in Total, SAS will have contracted 22 CRJ900 aircraft from CityJet.

Sales of Cimber is a part of the simplification of the SAS production platform to produce greater traffic flows with a more uniform fleet, while the smaller traffic flows are managed by partners.
