Japan reports the long-awaited trade surplus – Västerbottens-kuriren (the Courier)

Japan reported its first annual trade surplus since 2011, when the nuclear accident in Fukushima, made the country’s bill for imported energy was sky-high.

the trade data shows that imports for the year 2016 fell nearly 16 percent, mainly due to the falling cost of crude oil and natural gas.

the trade Surplus is the equivalent of about 316 billion Swedish kronor, last year.

the Figures also show that exports in the country increased in december for the first time in more than a year, since the demand for car parts made in Japan have increased.
