Swedish-German cooperation on elvägar – Västerbottens-kuriren (the Courier)

Sweden is starting a cooperation with Germany regarding, inter alia, elvägar. The cooperation will be presented during chancellor Angela Merkel’s visit in Sweden in a week, according to the minister for enterprise, Mikael Damberg.

— A development of a elvägsnät would be able to provide great environmental benefits, but also economic because electricity is cheaper than fossil fuels, ” says Mikael Damberg at the Swedish newspaper svenska Dagbladet.

the Aim of the cooperation is to promote different types of innovations, which should lead to new export products and increased competitiveness. It focuses on four areas, one of which electrified roads is one. Sweden has already launched experiments with electrified roads, on a part of the E16 to the west of Gävle.

Mikael Damberg says to the newspaper that he is proud of the cooperation with Europe’s leading economy and for Sweden’s most important export.
