Nevs are given the green light by China’s government – Västerbottens-kuriren (the Courier)

Elbilsföretaget Nevs in Trollhättan has been given the green light by the chinese government to start production of cars in China. Nevs is the first car manufacturer with a foreign partner granted a production licence by the country’s national development and reform commission, the NDRC.

"I am very grateful for the approval of our elbilsproduktionslicens which we now received. It is a very important milestone for the Nevs, which are based on Saab’s 70-year history. It means that we can now take the next step to realize our long-term vision is to shape mobility for a more sustainable future", said Kai Johan Jiang, chairman of the board of Nevs in a press release.

the Processing of the case has dragged on, among other things because several companies applied to manufacture electric cars in China. The plan is now to Nevs (National Electric Vehicle Sweden) new factory in Tianjin will be in operation at the end of 2017, with an annual production capacity of approximately 200 000 electric cars.

In a first stage, the Saab successor deliver 150 000 vehicles built on the Saab 9-3 model to the partner Panda New Energy .
