Ulf Krister Andersson gets Moderates new economic policy spokesperson. He succeeds Anna Kinberg Batra nominated party leader and Krister Andersson thus becomes the party’s finance minister candidate for extra elections in March.
This says Ulf Krister Andersson of the possibility of becoming next Finance Minister:
– There is no good government or prospective government handing out ministerial posts before you win an election, but it’s clear that I had not taken this mission if I was not prepared to shoulder the responsibility also in the Treasury Department.
The Conservatives unveiled core of the team along with the intended party leader Anna Kinberg Batra will drive Moderates cardiac issues, the economy and jobs, in the upcoming election campaign. Elisabeth Svantesson will be the new spokesperson for Labour and Ulf Kristersson new economic policy spokesperson.
Krister Andersson was social security minister in the previous government and has previously served as Chairman of the Moderate Youth League and social commissioner in Stockholm.
To say he about the challenges he now sees before him:
– In the short term, we face a choice, we have an alliance budget that has won, we have another government that does not want the budget and this kind of uncertainty can not we have in Sweden, says Ulf Krister Andersson.
In the longer term it on big challenges, says Krister Andersson:
– It’s all about knowledge, about entrepreneurship, the ability to both accommodate people who work with extremely high skills and people who do not yet have the skills, which I think we have very much to do in Sweden.
The Conservatives have today also appointed Elisabeth Svantesson to the new labor market policy spokesman. Elisabeth Svantesson was previously Minister of Labour and has been the Member of Parliament for the Conservatives since 2006. She is now an uphill task in the upcoming election campaign when the Moderates election analysis including showed that the party’s lack of response in the job issue played a large role in the party made a bad choice.
– We must continue along in our party to develop the right job policy so that jobs are becoming more but also can benefit many and we must be clear to the voters with what we want to do, says Elisabeth Svantesson.
