Secret talks can stop the election – Swedish Radio

Secret talks can stop the election – Swedish Radio

According to SVT’s sources of ongoing talks between representatives of the Government and the Alliance. According to SVT’s political reporter Kerstin Holm is it about Finance Minister Magdalena Andersson from the Government and a couple of the Alliance’s economic policy spokespersons and the talks should be about mold issues.

– The interesting thing is that you do not talk about issues but about matters of form, how a minority government in Sweden is to get through a budget in parliament, says Kerstin Holm.

Ulf Bjereld, S-labeled Professor in political science at the University of Gothenburg, says in P1 Morgon that you should take this information with a grain of salt, but that such negotiations are not totally impossible.

– There are many voices within social democracy and the alliance parties who very much wants you to resolve the situation but that it should be optional.

Last week, LO chairman out and said that he wished the new elections would be set. And a few weeks ago wrote Alliance in Dagens Nyheter that they were ready to negotiate rule changes so that it can be easier to reign for a minority government.

According to Erik Nises, Prime Minister Stefan Löfvens press secretary, underway for some time now talks between the government and the alliance parties on rules for how a minority government should be able to get through its budget. The decision on extra election is expected to December 30, and plans to call new elections remains.

– We are working hard on the pitch, says Erik Nises said.

Finance Magdalena Andersson Press Secretary Miriam Abu Eid told TT that she was not aware of any negotiations.

If there should be a agreement between S and the Alliance says Ulf Bjereld that it becomes either political or legal.

– Does the policy will be agreed between the Social Democrats and the Alliance parties on how to deal with these issues forward, if, for example just to vote for their own budget option. But it can also happen that you are discussing possible changes in the Parliament Act that affect the parties’ freedom of action in parliament how to vote or not when it comes to the budget, says Ulf Bjereld.
