The Swedish Trade Style commissioned a study of the sales in the clothing and shoe stores have been developed so far in this year’s holiday shopping season (1 December to December 21, 2014).

The survey shows that sales of clothing decreased by 3.2 percent and sales of footwear decreased by 8.2 percent compared with the same period last year.

According to a press release.

In December, the forecast is that the clothing trade slopes 1.5 percent and shoes dropping 5.0 percent.

“But the two crucial days for the clothing trade Monday and Tuesday as the two are awesome big and my assessment is that a large part of minus taken back then and in between days. I dare not promise a plus for months without expecting minus 1.5 percent for the clothing industry, “believes Michael Sandström, industry-president of the Swedish Trade Style.

“Shoes are no direct Christmas be without a large part of sales is located in between the days why I believe that even the shoe industry takes back a portion of the drop and landing at minus five percent,” he assesses on.

“If the forecast stands up, the result for the full year 2014 minus 0.2 percent for clothing and plus 1.8 percent for the shoe trade,” he notes.
