New banknotes will fall – Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet

Over 300 million notes and about two billion coins will be replaced.

These cash to be replaced by new starting in autumn 2015. Just tiokronan remains.

In October released new banknotes in denominations of 20, 50, 200 and 1000 crowns. The new banknotes decorated by well-known cultural personalities Astrid Lindgren, Evert Taube and Ingmar Bergman and former UN Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold. Another year later, the brand-new 100- and 500-kronor with Greta Garbo and Birgit Nilsson as motifs. While launching the exchange of crown coins and femkronor against new and a brand new two-crown coin is introduced.

Exactly how much money , ie the number of new banknotes and coins to be produced is not decided in advance . The use of cash decreases rapidly. The peak year 2007, there were cash for 109 billion. In November this year, the amount of cash shrunk to just under 80 billion.
