Longer sentences than in the Pirate Bay case. It was the result when the judges are in the day fell in Sweden’s biggest targets around the copied design.

The two principals, the company’s founder and the person who acted as a ceo, is sentenced both to one-and-a-half years in prison for crimes against copyright and trademark infringement.

after they tried to go around the Swedish copyright laws by selling designer furniture through a company in the Uk, which has 25 years of copyright for the service design compared with 70 years in Sweden.

Also, two other people who have the link to the company is convicted. It is a related to the founder who has managed the company’s finances and convicted of crimes against the copyright act to probation and a fine.

A man in whose company worked with, among other logistics for the company convicted for aiding and abetting an offense motupphovsrättslagen and gets probation and a fine.

the Prosecutor had called for a minimum of one and a half years in prison for the two principals. Today’s judgments can be compared with the Pirate Bay verdict, in which 10 months imprisonment are imposed.

Penalty for both copyright infringement and violation of trademark laws range from fines to imprisonment not exceeding two years, or to a maximum of three years ‘ imprisonment for multiple crimes.

the Court writes that it is a very extensive crime, both when it comes to the length of time that the company has been active in the and when it comes to the very large values. The crime has also caused the copyright holders a lot of damage.

It is gratifying that rights holders now receive redress. The compensation is very high, but we believe that the right holders should be fully compensated for. To this, however, is that the district court establishes that they have the right to compensation for the injuries that will affect the market for a very long time to come. At the side of the right-holders who are injured are those who bought Designers Revolts products and the environment the losers.
