the volume of sales in the retail sector, in constant prices and calendar adjusted, increased by a total of 0.6 per cent in september, compared with the same month in 2015. It shows statistics from statistics SWEDEN and HUI Research.

Andreas Svensson, analyst at HUI, notes in a comment that several delbranscher in the durable goods, had to pay the price for their own success in september last year, with the weak growth rates in years.
“The preliminary outcome for the month, supporting the picture of seasonal delbranscher such as retail fashion and sports store formats have had it tough in september, which was unusually warm and nederbördsfattig,” he writes.
Andreas Svensson notes that food prices in the food retail sector continues to show a lower growth rate and the peak from september of the previous year of 3.3% is far from the current rate of price increases of 0.3 per cent.
“The most important reason for the current development is to importkostnaderna for food slowed down against the previous year. For households, this development is unambiguously positive, but for traders it becomes more difficult to increase sales as measured in dollars and cents,” he writes.
