Angry Putin stop South Stream – Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet

The announcement came from Russian President Vladimir Putin during a visit to Turkey’s capital Ankara.

At a joint press conference with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday confirmed a manifest irritated Putin to Bulgaria must give their permission before controversial pipeline can be completed. Bulgaria opposes currently the South Stream, which will supply gas to Europe, built in the Bulgarian sea.

Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller confirmed after the press conference that “the project is finished.”

During his visit to Turkey announced Putin, Russia’s expanding gas exports to the country with three billion cubic meters and the gas price for Turkey to be reduced by six percent, Reuters reported.

At the press conference, Putin said, according to Russian Interfax, that there are plans to build several gas pipelines to Turkey “to satisfy the increasing needs in the Turkish economy.”
