Avanza has just been appointed acting CEO of the online bank. Now, however, the company’s chairman, Sven Hagströmer a permanent CEO is nearing completion.

In connection with the latest quarterly report published Avanza Henrik Kallen appointed acting CEO of the online bank. Today, Wednesday, June 1, he took up his new post.

– It was obvious that the choice fell on him. He is probably the one that has been at the company the longest, and it can be the best of those who are here, says Sven Hagströmer.

How is the recruitment of a permanent CEO?
– We’re in the finals now and expect to be ready by mid-year.

Has it been difficult to find a replacement for Martin Tivéus?
– It has been very, very good candidates, so this process has been very fun.

According to Sven Hagströmer, Avanza has a tradition of recruiting a CEO who operate outside banking sector.

– We have had colleagues who have come from the industry, though at a lower level, and it usually has not worked.

not to recruit people from the private sector is something that Sven Hagströmer have experience from previous assignments.

– When I was chair of Tele2 were people from Telia are not employable. They were wayward, at the time. The same is true to some extent, if somebody comes to Avanza from a large bank.

How Michael Wolf is current as new Managing Director of Avanza?
– We got a tip about him but I’m not going to develop it more. I tried however to get into Michael Wolf in the Sound Board many years ago. We contacted him, but he jumped not. That was before he became CEO of Swedbank.

What industry will Avanza’s new CEO from?
– No, I can not say but it is an industry where customer satisfaction is at a premium.
