Vague terms in the shoe business – Västerbotten Courier

Economy. Many of the big European skoföretagen not respond to questions about how they counteract unfair working conditions in its supply chain, according to a new report from the network Change Your Shoes.

the footwear sector is for the clothing industry in sustainability efforts. Network Change Your Shoes, where the association Fair Action included, has compiled a report on what the European skokoncernerna do to ensure that their suppliers work with nice conditions for their employees.

The report notes that the three companies, Adidas , Eurosko and El Naturalista, has processes in place to launch a sustainability efforts. Six companies, including Deichmann and Nilson Shoes has made “some efforts”.

Birkenstock, Camper and Ecco were among those who did not respond to the survey. Ecco stated in an email to TT that the dialogue with Change Your Shoes.

– The few initiatives that exist are at the policy level and mapping. One sees no concrete evidence on the factory floors, said Charlie Aronsson.

Twelve of 23 companies participated in the Change Your Shoes survey. Only nine of the 23 companies publish public sustainability reports.

– It is on a collision course with the United Nations Principles on Business and Human Rights, said Charlie Aronsson.
