Do not lower the requirements on fast tracks – Expressen

Ylva Johansson launches new fast track for refugees into the labor market. But speed should not go before quality.

This is welcome and necessary, that the government and Ylva Johansson think in new ways – beyond the old integration policy fiasco. Sweden must take advantage of each person’s training, experience and competence. Whether you were born here or not.

Fast Track is the government’s efforts to work with employers and unions have displaced more quickly in the job.

the latest addition to the establishment minister Ylva Johansson fast track kit comes sociologists and social workers.

For a Swedish bachelor degree is required in day three and a half years of study. A socionoms most important task is the exercise of authority. Hen will, among other things in a proper safe work from the Social Services Act.

The job has a strong impact people’s life; as when children must be disposed of or investigations made in connection with child custody disputes.

The unions have previously been critical of the local authorities, the social worker burnout Sweden, employs people with inadequate education. Now place the bins behind Ylva Johansson fast track; It is supposed to contain supplementary training – which of course is good.

But the question is how fast it will go. Fast Track Candidates must first learn qualified Swedish. And how relevant is actually a degree in social work from a university in Afghanistan for a job at the social welfare office in Vimmerby?

Ultimately, of course, on individual’s actual skills and ability to develop their skills. But the issue of certain immigrant academics unemployment often superficially reduced to a problem which is due to Swedish bureaucracy.

How many times have we heard the mantra of “more resources for validation”? But courses that are irrelevant to Swedish conditions do not get better just because they are translated.

Prospective licensed physicians in Sweden must undergo an AT-test. In the group with Swedish medical disallowed 4 percent. In the group with qualifications from outside the EU were rejected 40 percent, according to a study in Läkartidningen last spring. There is 10 percentage points lower than in the measurement from 2009. The need for additional training is therefore very large.

Ylva Johansson is the fastest optimistic when talking about job opportunities with the fast tracks. It is true for some individuals. But that only 1735 people participating in the projects one year after the start shows that fast tracks can hardly affect unemployment more than the margin.

Some fast track also risk becoming very sluggish skill requirements in the labor market maintained. It must get to be.

ID professions – as a nurse and a doctor – is the actual skills literally a matter of life or death. Getting it right is more important than that it’s fast.

” A year after the start is now only 1735 people in the projects.
