Fingerprints poked CEO: “Should finish in the best possible way” – Swedish Dagbladet

– Well, I was surprised , given that it is going very well and the outlook is positive. Nor do I think that the board today have said anything that could be interpreted as not going well, because it does, he says.

Have there been any disagreement or schism between you and the Board ?

– no, not to my knowledge. The strategy is the same as we’ve had for a while and I do not know of any other views on the strategy, he said.

Have there been any disagreement with any major shareholder?

– Nothing that I know of. I report to the board and not to a major shareholder, he said.

Jörgen Lantto was told that a change of CEO was underway in May, but says he did not know when Fingerprint Cards was held on May 4

Christian Fredrikson takes over as CEO on August 1 and Jörgen Lantto remain as CEO until then, he is still in a transitional period in November.

– on August 1, I am handing over the baton. Until then, I am president and will do my best. I have no ambition other than to finish this in a good way. It is obvious, he says.

Why do you stay?

– I have a contract previously that the board wanted me to pursue and I want to finish in the best possible way. I have put a lot of time and energy on my mission, he said.

Have you been asked to remain in the company in a different role?

– it’s been a loose discussion about it, but I declined. Everything takes its time. That they have a replacement for me, I respect that, but that does not mean it is right for me to stay, he said.

Would you like to sit on the board of the FPC?

– the question has come up and I do not think so. There is rarely a good idea to CEO joins the board, he said.

Have you had time to think about what to do then?

– I have worked pretty much, that’s a round the clock job it here, so I might be looking for a little peace of mind clean job basis, he said.

Can you imagine taking another job in the industry?

– I have no plans to go to any competitor. It is not attractive because they have inferior products. I have previously been involved in a lot of different things and are not locked into any area.

So you have nothing concrete new mission on time?

– Not at all. People have begun to hear from, but I have no hurry, he said.

Are you going to sell your shares in Fingerprint Cards?

– The thinking I will not comment, it will tell.

During his remaining time as president, it will be “business as usual”, with a strong focus on customer projects and a semi-annual report which takes up much time.

– There will not be any big difference from before. It is very much about driving our business, I talk several times a day with my sales manager and we have ongoing discussions with phone vendors every day. It is an extremely intense flow and it is the engine of our business. We must ensure that we put in motion new phone projects with our customers.
