EU almost agreed on tax evasion – Västerbotten Courier

EU countries according to Finance Minister Magdalena Andersson (S) has taken “a step forward” toward an agreement that will make it more difficult to withholding tax. The majority are waiting to hear this week from two countries that did not have a mandate to put his foot down on the finance ministers’ meeting in Luxembourg.

– If it is, it is a great success, it will make it more difficult to engage in aggressive tax planning in the EU. Many of the tougher rules we already have in Sweden, and this means that other countries will have rules that are more like Sweden. It strengthens the competitiveness of Sweden and Swedish companies, claiming Andersson.

If the two countries that abstained from the statement during Friday’s meeting did not oppose before Tuesday is the proposal for a new directive against tax evasion.

It should then be negotiated further in the EU system.
