Nokia mobiles comes back – and former CEO of the company behind the Angry … – Business Week

The company will re-launch the Nokia mobile phones have done a top recruitment.

Pekka Rantala has previously been CEO of Rovio game company behind the blockbuster Angry Birds. Before that he worked for Nokia in the years 1994 to 2011.

Nokia signed a license agreement with HMD to be selling phones in the classic brand. The Android-based products will be manufactured and distributed by Foxconn subsidiary FIH Mobile.

In the spring it was announced that FIH Mobile and HMD Global bought up Microsoft’s assets in mobiles, ie the part that once was Nokia’s mobile operations . The deal was worth $ 350 million and in connection with it, Nokia announced that it will receive royalty payments from HMD Global based on its sales.
