“TTIP negotiations have failed” – Sveriges Radio

The planned giant Agreement on trade between the EU and the US do not seem to get rid of. This assessment is German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel.

– Negotiations with the United States has in practice failed, because we, as Europeans, of course, can not submit to US demands, says Gabriel in the media ZDF’s summer interview.

the statement comes before planned demonstrations against both TTIP and the correspondence between the EU and Canada, Ceta, in September.

as recently as July, said US Secretary of State John Kerry that both the US and the EU aims to reach a free trade agreement before the end of the year.

But it has also been speculated that not much will happen in the substance until the US has a new president in place after the elections in November.
