EMU: Unemployment is slightly above expectations – Business World

Unemployment in the EMU amounted to a seasonally adjusted 10.1 percent in July. It was slightly higher than expectations of 10.0 percent, according to Dow Jones Newswires.

In June, unemployment was unrevised 10.1 per cent. In July last year was 10.8 percent.

For the EU area (EU28) amounted seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 8.6 percent in July. In June, the unrevised 8.6 percent in July last year was 9.4 percent.

The statistics are presented by the EU’s statistical office Eurostat.
