Great design tangle up in court – Västerbotten Courier

The Stockholm District Court is now underway Sweden’s largest ever trial on piracy of design, reports the P4 Gavleborg. It is about the Swedish company Designers Revolt which has sold cheaper copies of interior design classics such as Arne Jacobsen’s Egg armchairs and Poul Henningsen’s PH-lamp.

in May 2014 being the police made a raid against the company’s stock in Älvkarleby Uppland. Shortly after the business closed down. In December 2015 charges were brought against four people involved in the Designers Revolt.

The founder, who is one of the defendants, has been open to it has sold copies but, according to Dagens Industri argued that it was lawful when the company registered in the UK. But from the beginning of the year changed the law on which the same rules apply across Europe, writes your money.

The company is required now more than 100 million kronor in damages.
