Students are forced to wait until next year for housing – Sveriges Radio

– Orebro is red-listed in our report this year, it was also the last year. The red mark means that in Örebro will not be able to offer a home until the end of the term, says Caroline Sundberg is president of the National Students Union.

It is almost guaranteed students who move to Örebro to study in the fall will have to wait over one semester before they have access to reliable mortgage

With the redlining refers then that the city can not provide safe housing for students during the fall semester. Safe housing includes a first contract covering the entire study period, the home is no more than 30 minutes from the university by public transport and it costs no more than one-third of study agent.

– It is almost guaranteed that students who move to Örebro to study in the fall will have to wait over one semester before they have access to safe accommodation, emphasizes Caroline Sundberg.

The compilation is done by a round neckline to the student union and student housing companies available on the resorts. On the red list are in year eleven cities, it is one less than last year. In the amber list, there are 16 cities, which is a city more. In the green list a month to get home 6 pieces.

– It is sad to see that year after year we list more cities. Sure, now it has turned and it is a city less on our red list, says Caroline continues:

– But the relationship that we need somewhere to stay focused on our studies, it’s boring having to submit a report where eleven cities will not be able to offer a home for the students until the end of the year.
