Fewer young Norwegians work – Västerbotten Courier

In one year it has become 22,000 fewer young people in working life in Norway. A tough job market has made several studies – and they study longer. The statistics from the Norwegian statistical office SSB, writes Aftenposten.

– The decline in employment is typically in the 20-24 age group, mainly in the group who have been in full-time work, says Erik Horgen on SSB .

Co as less work, more people say they are studying, according to SSB’s labor force survey.

Economics Professor Hilde C Bjørn Country sees a connection with past recessions, and urges students to be conscious when choosing education.

– it is important that they take a proper education and not just driving around the university or college that they did not get the job they wanted, she says .
