Wall Street's oldest investor is dead – Kahn became 109 years – Business Week

He was the oldest on Wall Street. Although his two sons already had time to retire continued Irving Kahn go to work every day.

Irving Kahn has fallen asleep. The legendary investor was 109 years and the oldest on Wall Street. Kahn had time to experience both the depression of the 30′s, two world wars, stock market crash of 1987 and the financial crisis of 2008. Towards the end of his life he was known as Wall Street’s oldest investors. This writes Business Insider.

Kahn was born December 19, 1905 and began his career in the financial industry in 1928 -29 as a stock analyst on Wall Street. He acquired early in a significant mentor – the legend Benjamin Graham. They met when Kahn studied at Columbia University and Graham had as a teacher. It was also in his classroom Kahn met his wife who he lived with until her death.

Despite his advanced age, Kahn continued to the very end of each day to go to his office to work, although his two sons already had time to retire. Every day, Kahn also home to eat lunch, because it was cheaper that way. A habit that remained from having experienced depression, writes The Daily Beast.
