Germans and Poles peaks Job List – Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet

Germans and Poles peaks Job List – Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet

In total there are about more than 38 000 last year come to Sweden and worked here for foreign employers, according to the Authority’s register of all foreign companies with its own workforce, according to the posting Act.

One third of them are working in the construction industry. In particular, the construction workers from Poland, Germany and Lithuania.

But the numbers are hardly comprehensive. A lot of companies reporting may not register.

– The dark figure is difficult to comment on, says Alexandra Falke, Head of the Swedish Work Environment Authority.

The register is used primarily by the unions and foremost by General, who is looking up so that foreign companies comply with the Swedish collective agreements, according to Alexandra Falke. Swedish Work Environment Authority itself has no resources to control wages and the like.

German workers are most common, and besides construction, they are often active in the machine industry and the wind power industry. The Indians are quite numerous and mainly work as a programmer. Seconded Thais come in August and September and then as a picker.
