The new banknotes are smaller than the present and has brand new design. On the front are some of Sweden’s most prominent cultural figures during the 1900s. On the back is natural and environmental subjects related to persons. The notes have new security features that provide better protection against counterfeiting. What is new is that you should wiggle note to check that it is genuine. Then there are images that change color and images that moves and switches motives.

The new coins will be smaller and weighs half of the current. Moreover, they are totally nickel free. The coins have King Carl XVI Gustav motives. A parallel theme is “sun, wind and water”. 10-crown remains unchanged.

Four of the new notes will come in October this year, and the remaining two and coins in October 2016.

The pictures here show one side – it is historical Swedes. On the downsides are landscapes.
