State between the Eurogroup and Greece remains tense.
During Monday evening collapsed another meeting between the parties – and has thus come closer to a solution to the debt crisis.
– We have this week at us, but not much more, said the euro finance ministers’ chairman Jeroen Dijsselbloem according to TT.
Monday’s meeting of euro zone finance ministers and the crisis of Greece broke down on Monday – thus following the same pattern from Thursday when the parties left the talks without having agreed.
The negotiations were expected to last well into the night but the parties ran on the same track as before:
Greece, with new SYRIZA-led government in back, which refused to agree to develop the country’s savings policy.
The Eurogroup with its offer valid to extend the scheme in question – that makes tough demands for savings in the country.
The meeting was prompted by a war of words where the Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis wrote in the New York Times that it now needed to focus on the reforms that the Greek population behind.
“We call for a few months, financial stability,” he pleaded in the text.
Formulations that did not fall over well with the German finance minister, Wolfgang Schäuble, who directed strong criticism against Varoufakis, reports the DN.
– I feel sorry for the Greeks. They have chosen a government that behaves quite irresponsible for the occasion, he said in a radio interview that the newspaper aware of.
And even though the aid scheme runs out the end of February, it was not closer to each other during Monday – allowing the pressure to reach a quick solution is increasing day by day:
