The steep price declines for heavyweights such as AstraZeneca and ABB pressed index.
Most of the Stockholm Stock Exchange sized companies backed off. Index Heavy pharmaceutical group AstraZeneca fell full 3.9 percent and was thus the Exchange heaviest sinker.
Power and automation giant ABB also contributed significantly to minus with a decline of 3.2 percent.
Leading European exchanges rose, however. They were helped by the weak inflation figures from the euro zone, which have more to count on support purchases of government securities by the European Central Bank.
