Taxi Company Uber could create 50,000 new jobs in the European Union, says CEO.

The controversial taxi company Uber want to make a major investment in the EU, through collaboration with European cities.

– If we can achieve these partnerships we can create 50,000 new EU jobs by the end of 2015, says CEO Travis Kala Nick, according to the BBC.

Uber use an app to connect passengers and drivers and cars have no taxi meters, which has been the traditional taxi industry to protest.

The company has been banned in several countries, including Spain, and also has been sued by an Indian woman who claims she was raped during a trip with a Ubertaxi.

According to Kala Nick efforts are under way to improve the security and control drivers who want to drive for the company.
