SJ-competitor wants to push prices – Helsingborgs Dagblad

– We generally find that it is too expensive to take the train today, you can often find cheaper airfare, and we hope to change that, says MTR Express CEO John Soor.

The train operator, belonging to the Hong Kong-based group, which since 2009 operates the Stockholm subway, running first tour in March and has now begun selling tickets. Initially there will be four flights round trip on weekdays. For autumn, when the MTR will have all their six trains in use, it is thought that the departures will be increased to 90 a week.

Ticket system familiar from SJ, with different levels, but without the first or second grade. Fixed price was never an option for getting around complaints about prices change quickly has introduced 24 hour guarantee.

– It is our way of handling that there are consumers who want security when you can book and still have the flexibility, says Johan Soor.

The company is campaigning now with prices from 145 SEK. SJ takes the new competitor with tranquility.

– We welcome the fact that they come into the market and believe that it will enhance the attractiveness of traveling by train, says Maria Hofberg, business manager for fast trains from Stockholm to Gothenburg.
