The Swedish economy has been weaker than expected so far this year, economists judge the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions. They now write down its GDP forecast for this year, from 3.0 to 2.1 percent.
In spite of the weaker growth, employment has been stronger than expected and the tax base for local governments is growing by 2 percent when inflation is factored out, both this year and next year, according to the forecast.
