Andersson claims: "Step forward and take responsibility" – Expressen

Umeå. The accusations rained down during Sunday’s debate.

Anders Borg, M, called Magdalena Andersson, S, the Swedish masters in tax planning.

And Andersson says the Borg blames its own policy on her.

– Anders Borg has been finance minister for eight years. He has made major changes in the tax system and these things had he been able to correct a long time ago, she said after the debate.

Representatives from the nine parliamentary parties met in Sunday’s economy debate in BBC1. Finance Minister Anders Borg, M, and the shadow finance minister Magdalena Andersson, S, smoke together already during the first half. When politicians were asked whether the banks should be taxed more heavily replied Borg first no, but fell to a yes.

– You’ve lowered taxes for banks with four billion, protested the Social Democrats’ economic policy spokesperson Magdalena Andersson immediately whereupon Anders Borg said:

– We have cut corporation tax, but Magdalena Andersson created interest turbines, she took away the inheritance and gift tax, she created billionaire exception. There is no one in Sweden who has had more responsibility to drill holes in the tax system than Andersson.

“Take responsibility”

It angered Andersson replied:

– Well, now it’s my fault that Anders Borg has cut corporation tax, maybe you should step forward and take responsibility. It is weak.

Magdalena Andersson believes that the Borg tried to blame its own policy on her.

– Anders Borg has been finance minister for eight years. He has made major changes in the tax system and these things had he been able to correct a long time ago, she said after the debate.

He means that you are personally liable for interest-spinner and inheritance taxes.

– We Social Democrats took away the inheritance and gift tax after Sweden had voted against the euro and it was in talks with the business. The changes they made that led to these interest-turbines, they voted the Moderates for.

Borg backs not

Anders Borg maintains its position after the debate:

– Magdalena Andersson created the exemption for billionaires in taxation, she opened for the interest turbines that make the money ends up in tax havens, she took away the inheritance and gift tax, and then she changed the rules so they can cut taxes for the wealthiest when they charge money from his company.
