The America’s largest trade union for pilots urges the American government to disallow the Norwegian airline Norwegian’s application to open a new route between the United States and Norway.
Pilot union ALPA (Air Line Pilots Association) claim that low company’s business model enables safety and labor law are not fully respected, the newspaper The Washington Times.
Norwegian’s former routes have been based in Norway, but for company’s most recent initiative has created a subsidiary in Ireland.
Critics claim the newspaper said that by having the company registered in one country but fly from another Norwegian trying to ensure that it is not possible to get proper insight into how staff trained or how safety regulations are followed. In addition to criticism that the staff recruited from Singapore by a recruitment agency in Thailand.
