Greece: Sunday is the deadline for an agreement – Tusk

(Six) Sunday is the deadline for an agreement with Greece, and  then all EU countries Heads of State and Government to hold a  meeting, said European Council President Donald Tusk after yesterday  meeting of euro zone countries leaders.       "The harsh reality is that we only have five days to Us  to reach the final agreement. Until now, I have avoided  to talk about deadlines, but tonight, I must say loud and clear that  the final deadline is this week. We are all responsible for  crisis and we all have a responsibility to solve it, "said Donald Tusk.       "We met in the evening to discuss the grave situation in  Greece. We noted that euro area authorities are ready to do  whatever it takes to ensure the financial stability of  the euro area as a whole, "said Donald Tusk initially.       After the Greek referendum last Sunday, when the Greek  people voted no, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras pledged  to present a new application for a program within the framework of the  European stabilization mechanism ESM, under strict conditions, stated  Tusk.       "We agreed to examine urgently whether it is possible  to establish a basis for finding an agreement which respect  existing commitments and our common rules, "he said further.       The Greek Government shall, by on Thursday to present in detail  its proposal on a comprehensive and specific reform agenda for assessment  of the three institutions with a presentation of the Eurogroup.       Donald Tusk believes that all sides in the negotiations shared responsibility  of the current deadlock.       "That is why today I called on all leaders to try to find  consensus, which will be our common success, but  losers and winners. If it happens it will mean  the end of negotiations with all the possible consequences, including  the worst case scenario, where we all will lose. Our inability to  find a solution could lead to Greece go bankrupt and that   its banking system becomes insolvent. And it would certainly be most  painful for the Greek people. I feel no doubt that  this will also affect the whole of Europe in the geopolitical sense. If  anyone has the illusion that this is not the case, the person naive "  added Donald Tusk.      Johan Lind, Tel: +46 8586164 48  mailto: johan.lind@six-group.se  www.blogg.six.seSIXNews  SIX News
