Better than expected for Axfood – Private Businesses

Axfood, trading with consumer goods in the retail and wholesale trade in Sweden reported an operating profit of 431 million kronor for the second quarter of 2015 (376).

Analysts had expected an operating profit of 415 million, according to SME Direkt survey.

Axfood’s sales amounted to 10.478 billion SEK during the quarter (9804), while analysts estimates were sales of 10.302 billion kronor.

Axfood Hemköp chain reported an operating profit of SEK 56 million for the second quarter (47.0).

Among the analysts expected an operating profit of 52.9 million from Hemköp, according to the average forecast of SMEs Direct.

Hemköp’s sales amounted to 1 470 million for the quarter (1364). Expected was 1.396 billion. In Group-owned Hemköp stores sales rose by 4.9 percent.

The Willys chain reported while an operating profit of SEK 227 million (221) during the second quarter and an operating margin of 4.0 percent (4.1). Expectations were an operating profit of 230 million and an operating margin of 4.1 percent.
Willys sales landed at 5.691 billion crowns in the quarter (5,374), compared to the expected 5.606 billion. Comparable sales for Willys rose in total by 3.7 percent.
