The paper manufacturer BillerudKorsnäs reports a profit before tax of SEK 516 million for the second quarter of this year. It represents an improvement compared with the same period last year, when the profit was SEK 380 million.
– We have delivered a strong performance for the quarter, but it is burdened by additional costs for the upgrade of our fluting machine at Gruvön. Technically, the upgrade a success and quality improvement is beyond expectation, but it took a little longer than expected to complete, says CEO Per Lindberg in a press release.
The upgrade cost 170 million crowns. But positive for the company is that the Swedish krona is weak, and it is expected that the market remains stable with good demand.
BillerudKorsnäs sales increased to meager 5.5 billion, compared with 5.1 billion a year earlier.
