Two new breeds to Sweden – Mynewsdesk (press release)


 So far this year, two new breeds have come to Sweden – Bouvier des Ardennes and Griffon Bleu de Gascogne. Both dogs have been used in boar hunting and originates from Europe. Now, a total of 341 different breeds of dogs registered in the Swedish Kennel Club, SKK.

 These are already recognized breeds of dogs for the first time registered in Sweden.



 Bouvier des Ardennes
 

 The breed belongs to group 1: Pasture and Cattle dogs. The country of origin is Belgium. Bouvier des Ardennes is a fearless, lively, energetic and persistent dog used to the demanding task of herding pigs. In the 1800s they began to be used as game bloodhounds ledhundsjakt on deer and wild boar. It is reserved with strangers, but affectionate towards his family. The breed has Långaryd, Halland.



 Griffon Bleu de Gascogne
 

 The breed belongs to the group 6: Driving dogs and search and sniffer dogs. The country of origin is France. Griffon Bleu de Gascogne is a breed of Gascony in southwest France. It is a braquehund and hounds. In the 1800s, made crossings between Grand Bleu de Gascogne and smaller local griffoner. It is used as hounds hare and wild boar. The breed is in Lammhult, Småland.



 Over 300 different dog breeds
 

 In total there are 341 breeds and varieties registered in the Kennel Club dog registry. In 2014, registered a total of 51,111 new breeds in SKK. In the country there are about 785 000 dogs, including breeds and mixed breeds. Rashundarna is the most popular dogs in the total population is 75-80 percent breeds.
