Brazil intend to buy 36 Gripen aircraft – Expressen

Brazil will sign an agreement to purchase 36 Gripen aircraft, state Corren.se

The deal is worth 39.3 billion according to the newspaper.

The agreement between Brazil and Saab would have originally signed on June 23. But negotiations dragged on because the deal was overpriced for Brazil, which has gone through several economic crises.

According Corren should Dilma Rousseff, President of Brazil, have expressed a wish to Prime Minister Stephen Löfven about little better interest terms that would reduce costs with over 8 billion over a 25 year period.

Sweden should previously have agreed to a reduction of the first installment. But now suggest the Brazilian eagerness to sign contracts that they intend to accept the Swedish conditions.

– We are about to sign the contract for Gripen, says the country’s defense minister, Jacques Wagner in a press release.

The Minister of Defence wants Brazilian technicians to be sent to Linköping education. The thought is that most plan to be produced on location in Brazil.

– We should send our Brazilian engineers to Sweden in August.

It may then be about more than 250 Brazilian scientists, engineers and technicians who come to Sweden, according to the newspaper.
