Worse than expected for BillerudKorsnäs – Private Business

The expectations of the quarterly report were dashed any packaging manufacturer BillerudKorsnäs.

The result was negatively impacted by additional costs of approximately SEK 50 million for the upgrade of fluting machine at Gruvön, PM6.

That, along with the costs for planned maintenance shutdowns, weighed down earnings by a total of about 170 million.

“We have delivered a strong performance for the quarter, but it is burdened by additional costs for the upgrade of our fluting machine Gruvön. Technically, the upgrade a success and quality improvement is beyond expectation, but it took a little longer than expected to implement, “writes CEO Per Lindberg, commenting on the interim report.

The expectations for the operating profit stood at 599 million million and an operating margin of 11 percent, according to SME Direkt forecast summary for the report.

Profit before tax was SEK 516 million for the second quarter. Analysts had expected a profit before tax of 546 million kronor, according to SME Direkt.

Sales amounted to 5.489 billion crowns for the period. This was the consensus forecast of 5.458 billion crowns.
