The SEB made an operating profit of 5.3 billion, according to the report for the second quarter.
– We have had a very high activity during this quarter, particularly in large companies and institutions, many IPOs and there has been much activity with regard to hedge their currency and interest flows, says SEB’s CEO Annika Falkengren.
The second quarter profits were higher than analysts expected, but profit is largely the same as in the corresponding quarter last year.
Annika Falkengren mentions more background factors to the second quarter operating profit.
– There has been much focus on Greece and Europe and messy in the markets and it benefits us as a högaktivitetsbank, she says.
