(SIX) Sweden Democrats support the Alliance's demands for a parliamentary inquiry into the surplus target, and hence there is a majority in the parliament for this, reports the Financial Times. The Alliance intends to take an initiative committee in parliament to get to a parliamentary inquiry into the surplus target, reported it recently. "Unless the government spontaneously and voluntarily choose to listen to us, then we use the Parliamentary power methods to force them, "said Moderates economic policy spokesman Ulf Kristersson according to the newspaper. Finance Minister Magdalena Andersson has previously rejected Alliance call for a wider parliamentary inquiry, and has instead been content with the plan to let NIER investigate the matter. The Sweden Democrats want to keep the surplus target. The party economic policy spokesperson Oscar Sjöstedt has previously presented a proposal in parliament in a bid to stop the government's plans to scrap surplus target, but it was voted down in the Finance Committee in last week.
