Movie service Voddler disappears after burning 176 million crowns – IDG.se

Voddler has had a tough journey since its launch in Sweden in 2009. In just the last five years the company have gone up 176 million in losses. Now, reports newspaper Dagens Media to film the service applied for reconstruction and completely leave the consumer market for film.

If the company manages to go through reconstruction, the idea is that rather than focus on the business market and sell its technology for streaming to other suppliers. According to the application of reorganization requires a new focus to Voddler’s technology platform VNET rebuilt so that it is easier to integrate with the technology that potential customers already have.

Overall company debts of almost 35 million, according to Dagens Media.

Voddler had already from the beginning a rather shaky start for the reception of customers and competition has then increased significantly from international giants like Netflix and HBO but also from the classic Swedish media houses who launched their own video-on-demand services.
