As distributed legacy of Max Stenbeck – Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet

It is through the holding company Verdere in Luxembourg as Max and Cristina Stenbeck has controlled its stake in Kinnevik. Ownership is divided at 50 percent each.

Max Stenbeck, who tragically passed away earlier this week of the consequences of diabetes, has only a small portion direct holdings in Verdere, which he took from his father Jan Stenbeck, who died in 2002 .

Cristina and Max Stenbeck has been carefully planned to sudden events that may affect ownership. The rules that the siblings agreed says that they can not sell their stake to a third party.

– You can sell to existing shareholders, but not to someone who is not the owner, says Mikael Holmberg, director of Verdere to SvD Business.

As a result of the legacy after Max Stenbeck will therefore Cristina Stenbeck, through direct and indirect ownership control more than half of the holding in Kinnevik’s largest owner Verdere.

Verdere controls 10 percent of the capital and 44.8 percent of the votes in the Stenbeck sphere of power companies Kinnevik, where Cristina Stenbeck is Chairman and Max Stenbeck sat on the committee.

Max Stenbeck sudden death on Monday has shocked the business world and many have expressed their dismay that the Stenbeck family once again suffering a personal tragedy.

Max Stenbeck was 30 years.
