The uncertain economic situation in several countries in Eurasia TeliaSonera is able to write down the value by a total of 2.232 billion crowns. The impairment charge relates mainly activities in Tajikistan, Georgia and Moldova 1.5 billion. In addition, an impairment loss of 381 million for operations in Kazakhstan.
The impairment is charged to operating profit for the fourth quarter.
It is not the first time that Telia go on a billion bang. Almost exactly a year ago, TeliaSonera took writedowns of 2.5 billion.
