Eva Torberger, District Manager at Skanska in Gothenburg, is the construction manager for the year 2015.
The award ceremony took place on Wednesday in the winners’ work in Gothenburg and with the participation of colleagues and representatives from Construction Managers and Construction World, behind the competition.
– This feels really cool. I’m so proud, says Eva.
Eva Torberger is a leader who exposes their employees and get them involved. She combines a genuine interest in people with an ability to improve financial performance. This year’s construction manager also has a refreshing ability to innovate.
Her recipes on how to become a good leader spelled responsiveness, participation and courage.
- I think it is important to be responsive and see people. Creating involvement and participation are important. Setting clear goals and communicate them out so that everyone knows which way the ship should go is also the manager’s job. It’s about that one must dare to be the manager.
But according to her colleagues has large part in her success.
- It is my co-workers who do it here. They see the leadership that I really enjoy.

This year’s winners come from Bramhult, Boras. She has previously worked as a supervisor and manager at NCC and as a project manager at SGS Student Housing prior to assuming her current position as District Manager at Skanska, region Houses Gothenburg.

This year the award was presented for the sixth year in a row. The competition was fierce when the jury this year had eight highly qualified finalists to consider. Profitability, leadership, customer satisfaction, innovation and ethical behavior – internally and externally – is the criteria which the jury has assessed.

Eva Torbergers ability to see both customer and employee relations from a positive angle means she creates a lot of confidence around him, both as a person and manager.
