Saab CEO: Politics affects us negatively – Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet

Saab orders in the quarter increased to 4.8 billion, and the increase comes primarily from the business area Electroniv Defence Systems with a large follow-up order. Saab’s order intake was expected to land at 4.7 billion, according Inquiry Financial.

But sales and operating income was disappointing when compared with expectations. Analysts expected a collective sales of 5.7 billion, according Inquiry Financial.

Operating earnings landed of 210 million. According Inquiry Financial were expected to be SEK 280 million.

The operating margin declined to 3.9 percent in the quarter, up from 5.1 percent in the same quarter a year ago.

According to Saab CEO Buskhe customers are still uncertain.

– The market is still characterized by challenging conditions where customer orders are postponed by including economic reasons. During the first quarter we have also seen that political positions affected in a negative direction, writes Saab’s CEO.
