Q8 should compensate customers retroactively “- Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet

Now take environmental diesel scandal a new turn – when the influential industry organization Bil Sweden requires Q8 replaces hit motorists at up to 20 million.

RME as a low-admixture of regular diesel has clogged fuel filter on cars for several years. The consequences have been severe. Cars stopped in the middle of the highway and customers have had to replace the fuel filter and check the costs themselves – as SvD Business illuminated in several investigative articles.

The problems have been derived to Q8 of the industry organization Bil Sweden and several car importers, but Q8 has hårnackat refused and argued that their diesel meets all standards. And nothing has happened – until Thursday this week. When backed Q8 and promised to hand to introduce a food additive cleans diesel – a so-called additive competitors Preem and Statoil already has in its RME, and partly to stop marketing the RME in places where you have not had time to include it to be clean diesel fuel.

Bil Sweden CEO Bertil Molden now raging against Q8 and think that they should take their responsibilities.

– Q8′ve backed down. Now I think that they should take their responsibility and compensate customers and importers for the cost of fuel filter changes.

Bertil Molden continues:

– Many have undeservedly fallen into situations where cars stopped on highways and where they had to change the fuel filter.

Bertil Molden says problem existed for years and now that Q8 backed publicly, he thinks that they should take their responsibilities for the time been.

– Around 2,000 car owners affected, but there is a dark figure on just as many. Each filter replacement costs between 3000 and 5000 crowns. I would guess that the total cost to individuals outsourced amounting to 10 million. The cost should now Q8 take.

What do you mean?

– I think that car owners should turn to Q8 and demand money for their filter changes. It is not the fault of the cars or customer handling without fuel, fueled in.

Although many customers had to take costs themselves have no car importers paid the filter changes, including Kia and Hyundai.

– It is about up to 10 million, so the total should Q8 bear costs of up to SEK 20 million, says Bertil Molden.

– All these costs had Q8 spared themselves and customers if they just listened to us for just over a year ago. Unfortunately, they did not want it then.

He says he not understood that Q8 not taken to any criticism in the past year.

– It has nothing has happened. And if they now themselves defenders to put in additives and removes RME from stations says it very much.

What does that tell you?

– they come to the realization that they are wrong. Then they must take their responsibilities.

The Q8 is Camilla Slunge Dowling sustainability manager.

– We must flatly reject the demands of Car Sweden. It’s not serious. We have chosen to take responsibility and help customers who bought cars with problematic materials that do not agree to the European standard em590. Now it’s time for car manufacturers to meet their responsibilities.

What responsibility do you think that they should take?

– You know, I have no desire to develop my answers more.

We have been in touch with your customers who have not received compensation from you – how do you comment on that?

– I do not want comment on it more.
