Stora Enso fall after report – Private Businesses

Stora Enso’s operating result amounted to 220 million euros for the first quarter. Expected, according to SME Direkt compilation for the report EUR 209 million.

The operating margin was 8.8 percent, compared to expected 8.2 percent.

Profit before tax landed at 162 million. Analysts had expected a profit before tax of EUR 164 million, according to SME Direkt.

Profit before tax includes non-recurring items totaling EUR 8 million, which was announced before the report and hence expected.

Sales amounted to 2.491 billion euros for the period. Here lay the SME Direkt consensus forecast of 2.558 billion euros.

Track higher turnover

Stora Enso predicts that sales in the second quarter of 2015 will be slightly higher than with the first quarter, when it was 2.491 billion euros.

The operating profit is expected to be in line with the first quarter of EUR 220 million.

Maintenance work will be performed at several plants during the second quarter. The negative impact of maintenance actions are expected to be EUR 30 million higher in the second quarter than in the first quarter of 2015th
