DEBATE. Now Union and Sweden’s engineers come to the point where we no longer have any choice but to announce a strike. Our members at the service of the employer organization ALMEGA has given clear information. They also want additional provisions for retirement and the opportunity to go down in time the final years of working life.
ALMEGA stands alone as opposed to the system called flex pension.
It’s about expanding economic and security conditions related to the individual. Within the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise has already 28 of the 36 employers’ unions reached agreements on flex board.
Last week signed normative agreements within the industry. The new collective agreement provides members with continuing increases in real wages and is at a level that can put “brand” in the labor market while ensuring Sweden’s competitiveness. The parties including agreement on a one-year contract with a contract value of 2.2 percent, including a continued expansion of the flex board.
Now that the brand is in place there is every opportunity to negotiate contracts that contain flexible retirement even within Almega area. For those who claim to follow the brand’s provisions for flexible retirement is now a given part since the two agreements movements back. That makes it even more important position to get through the system even in the service sector.
Graduate Engineers and the Union would still rather solve the issue at the negotiating table and have therefore met ALMEGA at the industry level this week.
we have always been clear about what steps we will take to get to an agreement on flexible retirement. We do not agree can the members out on strike. The members of the Association of Graduate Engineers and the Union is prepared. It is a matter of justice.
ALMEGA want to portray their opposition as it is because they cherish individual salary and wage distribution. It is their attempt to escape the debate about what it is really about, namely that ALMEGA at all costs to avoid the costs for companies, in a far more subtle way than other responsible companies in Swedish industry.
We can never accept that employees of companies that are members of ALMEGA to be the only one on the officials’ private labor which are not guaranteed an increase in occupational pension. What we propose is cost-neutral, equally for all employers and workers, and does not eliminate competition.
The collective is every opportunity for individuals to meet individual agreements beyond that is the collectively agreed basic security. It is obvious to the Union and the Swedish Engineers that the possibility exists.
It ALMEGA cherish is their individual freedom or wage. They cherish so cheap and vacuous collective agreements as possible. ALMEGA want to be the employer cheaper option.
The clear message we do get from the Union and the Swedish Association of Graduate Engineers members is that they are not interested in being the cheaper labor option on the Swedish labor market.
We question the if Almega member companies really think that employers’ organization’s behavior is reasonable? Thousands of companies in the rest of the labor has chosen to take responsibility and therefore signed an agreement on flex board, and is now expanding provisions for occupational pension in the newly signed agreements.
The Union and the Swedish Engineers are both responsible parties in Swedish Labour and never use the opportunity to take strike action if it is not absolutely necessary.
Almega’s actions have forced this. Now we are in a position where it will be necessary unless ALMEGA move its position.
If we can not question the flex board at the negotiating table goes around 10,000 of our members out on strike on 18 April.
